this big freeze has provided us all with many talking points over the last few weeks, and even given some people a few fashion dilemmas. yet it is still surprising that a weather report has become a fashion talking point. this youtube clip from an irish news channel (rte) has gained a lot of publicity because of the ridiculous hat hat worn by reporter paul cunningham. there is a facebook page called ‘we love paul cunningham’s winter hat’. amazingly people are actually interested in where he got the hat, leading rte radio to officially state that he got the hat in a store called Shevlin Millinery.

ability with a paint brush never fails to impress, especially the talent required to create photo realistic paintings. the above oil painting is by the hugely talented american artist glennray tutor. it has brought some inspiration to my day, which i had to share. i am loving the pop art references and colour, also – how real do those marbles look? check out his site for more, or explore the awesome booooooom blog for similar stuff.

january can be such a depression month with the shivering cold and awfully grey weather, not to mention the slightly empty bank account after the big holidays. so to cheer myself up, i usually turn to music in hopes that it will put me in that happy and cheerful mood again, and maybe even shed some sunshine to my existance. after slowly getting tired and utterly bored of all the songs on my ipod, i cant describe the joy i was filled with when this little gem from dynooo suddenly dropped in my inbox. the track is called “fuh real”, with great vocals by swedish singstress naboobia, andthis version was remixed by luigi (who is part of the belgian beatmaking duo infinitskills). the original version of “fuh real” is part of dynooo’s latest ep “gum dragon” that is musically fresher than a breath of air. so go go go, have a listen, fall in love, and let me know what you think.

i cant stop smiling when i listen to this song if you like your hiphop, or no, let me re-phrase that: if you like your uk hiphop and you like getting that warm and fuzzy feeling inside when you hear an emcee with a great flow and outstanding lyrics, rhyming over quality beats, then you need to do yourself a favour and check out mystro. he has been around in the game for over a decade now, and it is safe to say that there are sparks of talent flying everywhere off him! oh and before i forget, you can find his latest ep “mystro presents: f.d.t.” here.

with the new year comes all the new year resolutions, and i don’t know about you, but one thing that appears on my list every year is to become healthier. now i can’t say that i am very good at keeping my resolutions, but one thing i do know is that a smoothie can be very healthy (not to mention that they are so tasty!). and to my great surprise, i came across this wicked tune “smoothie” by some cool cats from the netherlands called cinnamon rush who make jazzy hiphop music in very healthy doses. so set your conscious to ease and tune in
