oh look what we have here! lady gaga has reportedly been approached to sing the latest james bond theme tune!
wow! such an honour for someone that hasn’t been in the limelight for very long…and we all know that she will be in good company. previous crooners have included tina turner, madonna and sheryl crow
the last theme tune was sung by jack white and alicia keys as you can see in the above video, so we can see that they are looking for a more edgy sound, which is exactly what lady gaga would bring. she may even bring in some new fans who would not have been interested in the movie otherwise. the one snag is that she has been asked to sing with michael buble…which is a combination we wouldn’t have pictured!
i am quite looking forward to hearing what the song might sound like, at least we know its going to be entertaining!

i have many musical obsessions, or maybe passions is a better word (mainly because it makes my sound less crazy), and one of them is jazz. my patents took me to copenhagen jazz festival when i was 6 years old and the rest is pretty much history. having that said, i don’t think i have shared enough jazz music with you lovely lot, so today is the day!
i took the somewhat radical decision of not going down the “well-known” jazz route, and instead share this amazing pre-easter mix by black classical. this isn’t a boring blend of your standard jazz musicians, oh no! it is more a crazy outlandish cocktail of some of the weirdest (read: amazing!) jazz music you’ll hear. where black classical digs out and finds all these gems i do not know, but it is very impressive to say the least. so do yourself a favour and go on this one hour magical trip of pure musical bliss, it really is the perfect mid-week listen, especially with this grey weather.

the
tech team here, the [v] it team as we
like to call them, have asked me
to let you know that there is something going on at the back of this blog which
means the ‘older’ posts link and the ‘tags’ are temporarily disabled, everything else is all rosy. the [v] it team are currently doing their tech thing, and it will
be sorted asap, in the mean time check out why rage against the machine are in
the news!

rage against the machine front man jack de la rocha has announced that they would like to perform live with susan boyle – what the vit?

this is the band who defeated the x-factor to christmas number one with an anti all that is simon cowell related internet campaign just a few months ago. they now want susan boyle, a product of cowell’s britian’s got talent show, to perform ‘killing in the name’ with them on their upcoming tour. is this for real?

asked why, they say “we love susan boyle, she is hot.” are they taking the vit? we might have to send a special investigative v-team on the case ;-)

so you’ve heard the one about pigs flying, almost as unlikely is a dog riding a tricycle. how cool does that dalmatian look!? all he needs now is a pair of shades! the only possible next step from here would be videos of animals talking ;-)

monday monday, not to sound too grumpy, but i am getting increasingly annoyed and fed up with all these grey monday’s. so i thought i would try to lighten up the mood with one of my favourite british vocalists, jamie lidell. i love this song, it has a proper blues feeling to it but obviously with a modern twist, and it is taken from his forthcoming album the compass that will be released on warp in middle of may. however, blues music is usually not associated with anything happy, more to misery and loneliness… so i thought i’d balance it all out with one of his older tunes, multiply. have a great day and keep those chins up, i am sure the sunshine will return sooner or later.

for this weeks blog love we have decided to feature one of our favourite photo sites with you, photography served
they feature photography portfolios and albums from some of the worlds leading creatives who are also apart of the behance network. there are a couple of “served” sites, including fashion and typography, which showcase work in those fields too.
on photography served there is no dressing up the images either, no text, no real explanation, just mind blowing images delivered daily. and most of them really are fantastic.
over the last few months some of my favourite showcases have been:
winter berlin – lovely photos of the german city covered in snow.
the little things - tilt shift photography of landscapes, really interesting!
photographs of artists and weirdo’s – does what it says on the tin
the range of subjects is really vast, and no matter where your photographic interest lies, you are bound to find something that will catch your eye.
so just before you leave work for your friday festivities, have a scroll through some of the albums and let us know what you think!

happy friday! i have some beats and treats for you all today, so right about now would be the time to get excited. when was the last time you got a treat combining unicorns and free music? i bet it’s been a while, but have no fear, orsi is here to provide you with the right fix.

i would say it is common knowledge by now that i absolutely love paul white, and i am pretty sure i am not the only one. in fact, i like him so much i even wrote a little poem about his latest album. this master mind of a beat-maker and absolute musical genius (if i may say so myself) has been working hard on his latest album “paul white & the purple brain” that will be released on now and again records in june, and luckily for us, you can download his first single “ancient treasure” (with no strings attached) to have a cheeky listen and get excited. Oh and as for the unicorns, check out this amazing fan video for one of paul’s tunes:

the global twittersphere had a big celebration yesterday that was twestival. there were parties in cities all over the world where the twitterati came out in force, all in aid of raising funds for concern.

the london twestival impressively raised over 12,000! vitamin water did their part by supplying 500 bottles! check out the above photo of one twestival attendee enjoying one of those bottles taken by jon cartwright, see more photos from the party on jon’s website
there was a lot of good will shown by brands with loads of cool prizes on the night. on a personal note, as well as having a super time at the event, by a complete stroke of fortune 2 of my 5 raffle tickets came out of the hat! i won a years supply of burritos and on top of that a pair of tickets to an exclusive absolute radio live zoo session.
thanks you so much both, and well done to @ldntwestival and everyone involved! for those with sore heads this morning, vitamin water could be the answer ;-) right, i’m off to purchase a lotto ticket, have a good weekend!

what do you love about spreading the glac??au love?
ruth: first + foremost because it’s a lot of fun… the amazing team we have working with us, the different events that we get involved with and because i can come to work wearing a multi coloured skeleton suit should i wish to.
beth: working with the glaceau kids and the fact that no day is the same!
what’s your favourite saying/team motto?
ruth: BOOM.
beth: BOOM!
what flavour would you be for a day and why ?
ruth: spark! because i drink so much of it i’m probably turning into a bottle. also i talk at about a mile a minute and have boundless energy (most of the time).

where’s your favourite place to spread the glac??au love?
ruth: festivals where you meet amazing people and escape into a magical nonsensical world for the weekend… it’s amazing handing poor hungover tired little festivallers a nice cold bottle of glac??au and brightening up their dark mornings
beth: looking forward to the festival season… the hunters are prepped and raring to go!

what is the biggest flavour in your region?
ruth: triple x is going down a storm, it’s also lady gaga’s favourite. fact.
beth: spark is a firm favourite in the office – don’t think I’ve ever seen ruth without a bottle by her side…

and one more for luck…. if you were an animal what would you be and why?
ruth: a unicorn
beth: a panda. I have a strange obsession with them – absolutely no idea why. although i should probably say a poodle, seeing as i’m dressed like one in this pic – again. no idea why!

in case you missed it, sophie dahl has just launched her new cooking show on the beeb, which had it’s first broadcast last night. it was the first in an 8 part series, that shows the ex-model making “good honest food”.
each episode is themed around a different emotion, with last night’s being “spoiling yourself”. of course people have already compared the show to nigella’s, saying sophie is perhaps a younger version? comparisons are obvious though, both have no formal food training, and both have a healthy relationship with food, and present in quite a sensuous way.
but is tv not big enough for two lovely ladies who cook? the more the merrier we say. gordan, jamie, marco and heston have all found a spot in our hearts, so why not both of these lovely ladies?
well, we will be watching as she cooks up a storm in next weeks episode, themed “romance“…she might give us hints on how she snagged jamie
