rehydration for the nation.jpg

recognise the ad? well, if you haven’t yet spotted it out-and-about,
then you might just recognise the
eight rather delicious and nutritious variants from glacéau vitaminwater’s
colourful (and tantalizing) line up!
this is just a taster of our campaign that will is now showing across
the country (and on a billboard near you!)

and who are the new faces in the
advertising campaign?

you
probably don’t know the people pictured in the ads (yet).  but that’s because you’re not meant
to.  this year, we’ve chosen to
bring vitaminwater to life with real people.  real people with larger-than-life personas who bring to life
the personalities of our brand… you’ll come to know them as the ‘vitpack’!

we’ll
be introducing you to all of the stars from the ads over the next few weeks,
but in the meantime please say hello to mr i-focus, miss revive and mr spark
(left to right)

the ads are showing on billboards in 15 cities across the uk. if you
spot one of the ads, then be sure to let us know!  you can either add a coment in below, or send us a picture
on twitter: @vitaminwater_uk

listen up kids! you will be pleased to know that today we are having a very special power chart to tune into :) the concept behind it kind of grew out of a conversation about hiphop and it resulted in this amazing playlist that i somehow randomly ended up working on with my very good friend black classical. the original list probably would have contained around (or maybe even over) 200 songs, so we decided to divide it up in a couple of parts, starting off with the first part today. if you don’t know your hiphop very well, this could be seen as an introductory lesson to the history of the genre and the culture behind it. the tracks have been put together randomly and span over several decades and if you can’t spot any of your favourite classics in the first part, make sure you keep your eyes open for the upcoming parts in the weeks to come. so chop chop, put those crisp clean adidas sneakers on, some tracksuit bottoms, that fat gold chain around your neck, and prepare for an amazing trip down hiphop lane. oh yeah, and obviously, tune in to kid, you better know your history right now!

weekends have been designed for relaxing, however, that doesn’t seem to stop some people from getting on with their saturday’s and sunday’s in a crazy hour (at least by my own “weekend-time-standards”). despite this very fact, i have to admit that waking up ridiculously early on a weekend has paid off, since a group of my dj friends randomly came up with a pretty funny concept 2 weeks ago. they realised that they were all listening to music at the same time, and decided they all should submit 2 tracks by 9am in the morning, which in turn lead to the very cute concept mix “dj’s in pj’s”, containing some absolutely fantastic songs and artists. you can find the first edition above, and the follow up from this weekend on mixcloud. it really is a great way to ease yourself into a new week, so i hope you guys enjoy!

if you are a mate or know me slightly, then you will know that i love jay-z more than some of my distant relatives. ok ok, i can admit that his latest 2-3 albums might not have been the best work he has ever released, however, old school hova will always make me smile and nod my head no matter how bad i feel. so it was with great pleasure and extreme happiness i came across this amazing free album by ritchcraft. it is basically a remake of one of jay-z’s most famous albums the blueprint, but with some great jazz instead of the normal beats/music. if you like jazz and you like jigga, you have to download this album because you need it in your life, trust me!

Orlando Bloom

this week, the lovely orlando bloom was presented with an honourary degree from the university of kent.

he grew up there, so he knows a bit about the university, although he actually attended the guildhall school of music and drama in london.
this decision comes just days after kim cattrall was given an honourary degree from john moores uni in liverpool, which is near to where she was born. the most alarming fact from that story is that her mother’s name is shane! whats up with that?
both were given their degree in light of their focus on the arts, and contribution to it. perhaps they should get their hands on our new flavour, to help them focus even more? ;)

eliza doolittle.jpgi am feeling better
than i’ve ever felt !  my album came out this week !!!  emotions are
soaring ! all my hard work is now available on a little silver disc …and that
feels amazing.  all i’ve ever wanted is to walk into hmv grab my own
record and take it to the counter and buy it !  and i can do that now.
yeah baby !

its been a great
start to the week= on top of the new album, i found out that my single ‘pack
up’ has gone to #12.  super happy about that !  so enough of this
record talk…(it’s just overtaking my mind).

i’ve been bouncing
around the uk singing at festivals!  when i last wrote on the vitaminwater
water blog i mentioned i was going to be playing wireless and had just done the
serpentine sessions.  so, i did wireless !  it was amazing!  i
was on the bandstand stage which had a great atmosphere, picnic vibes,
blankets, baskets and lots of vitaminwater, !  i loved that everyone got
involved and sang along to my songs. felt really good! thanks so much to
everybody who came down, was a really great day!

i also got to play
at oxegen festival which was unbelievable !  i had never been there before
and i was lucky enough to open the main stage ….wah !?  it was so nice
to see that i have some irish listeners.  i had no idea that my music was
known in ireland.  was a loverly surprise !

such a rollercoaster
at the moment – so much going on. i’ve gone from ireland off to scotland over
the weekend, on sunday i flew up to scotland to perform at t in the park. the
weather wasn’t fantastic but the vibes were better than fantastic.
everybody was grinning from ear to ear and it was infectious.
 absolutely adored it.

want to thank
vitaminwater for getting me into their newest flavour i-focus, strawberry and
kiwi, it’s been keeping me refreshed during this lovely weather im loving it.
on the way back from edinburgh airport  at the moment, been watching the
footy, well done to spain! and especially to my loverly fabregas who joined the
team for the end! yay!

i suppose that’s
enough blabbering til next time!

love eliza x

hello my lovely friends, how is this hot monday treating you? i am feeling slightly exhausted but had the pleasure of attending by far the best event i have been to this year, so i am still buzzing and bubbling from the great time i had. it was the 5th edition of the doctor’s orders birthday party and boy oh boy was it a party to remember! an entire sunny sunday was spent outside with a big bbq, great music provided by dj’s such as spin doctor, mr thing, kidkanevil, alex nut and many many more, as well as some world cup final action in the evening. a lot of dancing, laughing, singing, amazing atmosphere with so much love all around, i didn’t want to leave to be honest, but obviously had to due to work next day. if you couldn’t attend or got stuck in the massive queue outside, i have a delicious (free) doctor’s orders 5th b-day mix for all of you who might have missed out and it basically sums up the wonderful vibes that were floating around. and fear not, if you are keen on attending a doctor’s orders event, they are holding a great hiphop event this friday at plan-b in London. make sure to check it out if you are in town!
