So you’ve got the turkey and the mince pies but have you sorted your holiday season wardrobe?

The party invitations (including the dreaded Office do!) are piling up but what will you be wearing?

Are you like my friend Anna who rushes out to get a new outfit for each new event? If you have maxed out your credit card on those gifts and cant afford a new dress per party like Anna here are five ideas.

1. The Black Dress: How many times has a little black dress saved your life? They are life savers I tell you! Every closet has one or three. Fun thing is with clever accessorizing it can look brand new each time. What will you be wearing with yours?

2. The Vintage piece: I have this recurring nightmare. I arrive at a party and every girl is in the same exact dress! Nobody wants a dress clone and this is where vintage has the trump card. A recent vintage designer find for £10 still puts a smile on my face. What has been your best vintage find?

3. The Party Heels: What do you look for in a pair of party heels? All you need is your favourite pair to see you through the festive season.

4. Large Headpiece: Now this can be like Marmite, you either love or loathe it. What side of the headpiece debate are you on? Headpieces get the party started. No one will care what you are wearing, when you are wearing a flirty headpiece. Fruit inspired designs are so in.

5. Deck the boughs with costume jewellery: The festive season is for sparkle and glimmer. Pile on all the costume jewellery that you own.

there’s no feeling like only having 12 days til christmas, and to help us contain our excitement, we’ve been giving today’s calming and chilled monday revival tons of airplay at vitaminwater hq!

danish electronic four-piece when saints go machine‘s striking track ‘fail forever’ is remarkable. the sombre tone, coupled with soothing vocals and a catchy soft electro melody is a great way to see you through nicely from now, right past quitting time, and up until the obligatory monday evening duvet snuggle!

cut_out.jpg

It may be the middle of winter but we think it’s time to discuss some skin!

Have any dress disasters? If you don’t yet, you will if you pick the wrong cut-out piece!

What are your thoughts on this ‘hole in your garment’ look? I really like it but is it me or can it sometimes look like someone has taken a pair of scissors to you while you walked down your local high street?

This is a tricky trend all right. Get it right and you will be channeling movie star, get it wrong and it is down the slippery road that is, tragedy lane.

Bottom line? Firstly, do mind where those cut-outs are placed, no one wants to see your nether regions. Lastly, when cut-outs have bulges of flesh poking out of them it is guaranteed to never be a pretty sight.

Trend or Tragedy?

cats. the most refined, conniving, and agile members of the animal kingdom.

or are they?

it seems that not all cats are blessed in the brain department, as the video above shows. the only thing getting in between this cat and a refreshing sip of water is the pesky bottle – and he seems to have missed the memo about heads and bottle holes being a no go area.

at the very least, he’s got the whole determination thing right, even though the cat community would rather we kept this video under wraps.

one day, little fella.

one day…

resolutions.jpg

It is a fact, New Year’s resolutions go hand in hand with left over turkey and shopping on Boxing Day.

Do you, like me, make a bunch of them only to break them by the 2nd of January?

What are your top five impossible resolutions?

Here are mine…

1. Jogging Every year I resolve jog daily on New Year’s eve. Lets just say I blame the fickle British weather for breaking this one. The current issue of snow is an example. It If you are one of those people who jogs regularly come rain or shine, one question, how? Talking about the weather, why are as a nation so preoccupied with it?

2. Less chocolate more fruit  To the girl who regularly passes on the chocs for the fruit, I applaud you. If this was meant to be the order of things, why does chocolate taste better?

3. Budget The miracle that is, sticking to one budget, is as foreign to many (including me!) as an exotic language.

4.  Try the new So what is the new thing you have picked up this year (shopping bags not included!)? I have been planning to learn to swim since I was a kid. Still on my to do list. You?

5. Stress How one is supposed to worry but not stress beats me. Even thinking about that puzzle gets me stressing…

What are your resolutions for 2011 and more importantly, how do you stick to them?

we’re feeling all warm and chilled after a big dose of today’s monday revival. british bass maven deadboy has taken a shining to drake’s track ‘fireworks’, and turned it into something all the more refreshing.

he takes the simplistic piano riff from the original and turns it into the focal point of his rework, accompanied by a series of pure beats that do a perfect job at gently lullabying us through this cold winter’s afternoon. all of these ingredients come together to create somewhat of a knee weakener – so make sure you’re sat comfortably for this one…

fancy yourself as a bit of a mover?

well try pitting yourself against this little guy.

this groovy mutt certainly lays down some serious moves that would work even the best strictly dancers into a bit of a sweat. and don’t be so swift to imitate the exotic routine either, because if you pay close attention to the fancy footwork, you’ll realise that moves like this aren’t just learnt – it’s something in the blood…

it’s the first of the december, and we may have just moved into prime christmas sing-a-long song territory – but more importantly, we bid a fond farewell to the marvellous movember.

it’s been a rollercoaster month filled with highs and lows, from parading around with our new gentlemanly status, to coping with the almighty itch! certainly a month we won’t be forgetting in a hurry (well, until next year at least!), we’re sending out massive high fives to all the valiant mo bros and mo sisters out there who bravely faced the ‘tashe!

however, lets not forget the cause behind all this hair growth, the prostate cancer charity. prostate cancer is currently the most common cancer in men in the uk, with around 250,000 living with the disease, and the prostate cancer charity do a brilliant job at raising awareness, pushing research, and supporting men with prostate cancer. movember is such an important lifeline for them, and so far the campaign has raised over £6 million!

a big pat of the back goes to the vitaminwater movember crew also, who have raised £626 so far! special mention to ed chandler, our front runner, who raised a whopping £213!

we’ve also had some superb (and rather enviable!) entries to our ‘show us your mo‘ competition, and today we announce the champion of champions, mo of mo’s, top dog, big cheese – whatever you want to call it – grand finale winner! keep reading on below to find out who it is!

and so for the last time this year…. check out our final progress below!
