we have been avid followers of the astonishing adventures of lord likely for many moons and this victorian gentle-man of action has recently embarked upon his own movember moustache-a-day marathon.

in a step aside from his regular posts straight out of the 1850s, the aristocratic adventurer lord likely is featuring his own exquisite take on moustaches – with his own extra-ordinary moustachorama and daily posts about his most favourite moustache stylings.

warning – some of his tales are not for the faint of heart!

we all love a bit of a bargain, and none more so than savvy shopper eleanor. we’ve been reading her blog pretty much penniless, which follows her as she embarks on the treacherous task of maintaining great personal style in the big smoke… on a shoestring budget.

whoa. impossible we hear you cry!

eleanor however, begs to differ. her love of vintage rummaging are all part and parcel of the challenge, and she doesn’t fail to deliver. check out ‘all that glitters is not gold’, a post that sees her uncover a goldmine of jewels all for a meagre £1.50! her blog is also filled to the brim with superb photography, and well-thought-out outfit posts.

so the next time you want tips on saving a few pennies, be sure to check out her blog!

ah, the thrill of the new. we’re all in favour of keeping our ears to the ground, but not without major help from the exceptional blogs out there in big ol’ netland. this week, we’ve been reading great youth culture blog nobody dance no more, who likes to keep a sneaky eye out for the next big things in music, art, design, fashion, and even food!

these guy’s don’t beat around the bush either – their posts are concise and to the point, providing you with a nice chunk of what’s hot for your viewing pleasure! we’re especially loving this track by gold panda - so much so, that we may have just blasted it on the vitaminwater hq speakers more than once to set us in good spirits for the weekend, and we might just use it to perk us up on our monday revival!

we realize that the guys don’t often get much fashion love on the blog – but we’re trying to make amends. and we’re starting off with one of our favourite menswear fashion blogs, male mode, written by a pretty dapper chap called cillian, who is doing a great job of picking out what’s hot from a range of talented designers.

he’s got a keen eye for new trend-forward labels, introducing talents such as tomislav mostecak, william richard green and raun larose, as well as personally sporting a bang on trend sense of style. he’s got a great writing style that gives you a concise snapshot of the designer, and actively seeks information straight from the horse’s mouth with a set of pressing questions!

be sure to check out his brilliant blog, and if you’re on twitter you can follow him too!

happy friday!

we’re feeling the love today. and because we’re not a selfish bunch, we’re passing it along to one of the blogs currently getting quite a bit of screen time here at vitamainwater hq. this week, we’ve been reading breaks of 10, a blog written by an active collective who live and breath youth culture.

with a keen eye for the latest in fashion, music, art, and photography, this group pride themselves on writing about things that genuinely take their interest – presenting a respectable blog curated with real passion.

it didn’t take us long to realise that they have a bit of thing for music, and it’s great to see them supporting superb homegrown talents such as ghosts of venice, melé, and martelo. they’re not one trick ponies either, as they can also take a mean set of photographs.

so support the cause, and let the breaks of 10 crew inspire your day!

we must admit, a fair few of us over here at vitaminwater hq are suckers for great alternative music. however, this rare form of musical goodness is somewhat hard to come by and more often times than not, it is not alien to hear a faint hum of chart fodder grace our mouths.

this is why we count our lucky stars for blogs like black plastic, written by a chap called adam who expertly curates the best material from the alternative and electronic music scenes.

having fully refined a palette for musical delectability, he makes a point of only featuring music that tickles his fancy, and he hasn’t got it wrong so far. holding an impressive ability to dissect musical material, he picks out the best bits and describes them in such great detail that some form of listening pleasure is almost guaranteed. be sure to check out this cover by huski of arcade fire’s ‘the suburbs’, it’s had more than its fair share of play time on our end…

we know, we’ve been a little caught up in all this fashion week madness – but we also like to keep a beady eye on the big list of things that we’re interested in. a bit like fat kid on fire, a great blog by wil that keeps its ear to the ground for the latest on street fashion, music, and art.

a fellow lover of new fashion, fat kid on fire does its utmost to seek out some of the most talented burgeoning streetwear brands, and always sticks to a strict ethos of focusing on them as a whole rather than individual items. in terms of ear candy, check out wil’s penchant for sourcing and profiling the finest dj’s, such as jayou, and longboy!

why do the leg work, when fat kid on fire can keep you in the know from the comfort of your seat! if you’re on twitter, be sure to follow him too!

wishwishwish.png

with london fashion week just around the corner, we’ve been doing our style homework on the interwebs to make sure we’re on top of our fashion game! tirelessly trawling the net, we’ve come across some absolute gems – including this one in particular, wishwishwish – written by carrie, a girl whose moved to the big smoke to live and breath fashion.

she’s doing a pretty good job of doing just that, and everyone at vitaminwater hq has been ooh-ing and aah-ing at her classic sense of style and great visual posts. she also suffers from a bit of a handbag addiction, something i believe that more than a few people across the nation can relate to. be sure to check out the newest member of her bag family, neely.

we wish carrie all the best of luck in the big city, but we have a feeling she won’t need much of that with her head full of fashion knowledge and a down to earth personality – be sure to keep an eye out for her on the front row soon enough!

happy friday!

ladies and gents, the wait is over. it’s that time again where we give some love to one of the cracking blogs under our trusty radar. this week it’s hi fashion‘s turn, written by native londoner sherin about her love for fashion and music!

hate the hefty price tag of high end fashion? well sherin might just be your fashion saviour. we were blown over by her impressive knack for picking the cream of affordable fashion, and she effortlessly proves that anyone can have great style at any budget.

you should definitely check out project take10, where sherin and 9 other bloggers take up the challenge of styling an item based around their personal tastes, and lace dress and crazy heels, because we think she looks fantastic!

if you’re on twitter, make sure you follow her too!

have a great weekend everyone!

cougarmicrobes

the weekend is almost here, so it’s time again for your weekly dosage of blog love to tide you over for the next few days. this week we’ve been checking out cougar microbes, a music blog written by boaz who hails from the alternative heartland of london, camden town.

the concept is simple really – boaz rifles through all the mindless fodder in the music world, soldiering through to eventually emerge triumphant on the other side, presenting his delectable selection of the finest releases from a top-notch line up of past and present artists.

he’s been giving our speakers a great deal of love these past couple of weeks, with posts about the brilliant tokyo police club, and fresh talent from the likes of the brute chorus and the ghost. we are truly grateful.

so ensure you’ve cleared a little bit of dancing room, turned the dial on your speakers to the right, and left ample time to let boaz entertain your ears.

if you’re on twitter, show him a bit of love back here!

have a great weekend!
