introducing miss kitty cowell…

1. what’s your nickname? after all, we’re all friends here! KC is my nickname, my full name is Laura-Kitty Cowell but because my whole life everyone’s called me Kitty when I started getting into music people started calling me MC KC! haha a long time ago!!

2. now we’re bezzie mates, tell us something exclusive about yourself that most people don’t know. I’m dyslexic. I went to something like 7 schools because my IQ is really high in some places but my reading and spelling was really low! School was a bit mad for me because I was always the new kid and I didn’t understand why I kept moving schools cos I was too young. I found my passion in art and music, that’s literally all I cared about in school and that’s why I focus so much on designing my clothing line and writing music. 

3. who was the last person to send you a text/tweet/any other form of digital contact?  and… what did it say!? I had a tweet from a woman who literally buys her daughter EVERYTHING I sell on my clothing site; Distress To Impress, and she sent me an awesome picture of her little girl in one of my t-shirts on her 1st day back to school in America! I love getting pictures like that!

4. most of us like to not be nude in public, so what’s your favourite brand/designer for covering yourself in? (and have you ever been nude in public?) Haha luckily I have not been nude in public but I have nightmares like that all the time!! I wear my own brand Distress to Impress a lot but when I’m not I wear ALUMNI NYC an american t-shirt company who I LOVE and Me and Yu clothing who are a British indie brand who make the coolest vest dresses! I also love Skelanimals so I usually wear their jewellery or just attach one of their plushies to me cos I’m cool and like to attach soft toys to my body. I might make one of those dresses like Gaga did with the kermit the frog dress thing. Infact I might stop wearing clothes altogether and just attach soft toys to my body.

5. you’re obviously a trendy vitaminwater drinker, what kind of music do you listen to? I’m a mixed bag! Right now I can’t stop listening to Japanese Pop music as I’m in the studio writing my own tracks and JPop is giving me some mad inspiration! I go from listening to utter chessey pop to hard core metal. I’m not into one scene; I just think that’s boring! 

6. what question are you sick of being asked and why? What my name is haha!!! It’s probably the most common question most people get when meeting someone new; but for me I have like a million names! Laura-Kitty Cowell is my full name, but growing up everyone just called me Kitty, then my friends called me Kit, then I got into music and it was KC. So I don’t know which to answer with; Kitty, Kit or KC!!!

7. were you a child prodigy like picasso or when did you first discover your creative talents? I was drawing and writing poetry and songs from a very young age but I didn’t think I could actually have any proper musical talent to take seriously until I was about 18. I won lots of national competitions through the dyslexia institute for poetry starting around the age of 6! I was always drawing and writing poetry/lyrics.

8. if you could work with anyone who would it be and why? What a question! I’d love to do some design collabs, and I think designing trainers would be sick! So Vans! If you’re out there let me design a shoe! Musically though, Gorillaz I think just because they look like a lot of fun!

9. i know it’s early days, but when you do eventually give up the game, what are you going to do in retirement? or are you going to be the new nick knight / picasso? Well I guess it depends what I achieve and get done. I’m always working, I never stop!! I’m always trying to achieve the next goal so I might just always work as I love it!! But if I retired I’d like to retire in Tokyo and eat vegetarian sushi every day.

10. who in your mind is the hottest talent that we should know about? Dj Kaio who is a producer and DJ from Paris is big! You need to know him, I’ve been working on tracks with him which are being released as his singles soon so keep an eye out! And also Gethin Pearson is a hot UK producer who I work with and he also works with lots of indie and rock bands and some pop acts too. Last but not least is Sally Pate who took the pics of me with all that lovely vitaminwater! She is a talented new photographer who is going to be big!!

name and where d’ya come from, cilla style? hi richard my name’s antonia and i am from the
lovely midlands but live in cardiff doing my degree as we speak!

now that we’re
up close and personal, tell us something about yourself that most people
don’t know. ummmm, i drink about 10 cups of tea a day! i am
the official tea monster!

we like
meeting the drinkers, if you could meet anyone in the world and have a vitamin
water with them, who would it be? oooo – if dead orrrr alive it’d have to be fred
astaire dead, or gordon ramsay – what an interesting meeting either would be!

you’re
obviously a trendy vitamin water drinker, what kind of music do you listen to? i am totally going through a folk music phase at
the moment so bob dylan, kate rusby, joni mitchell – but i also love so many
other styles of music from jazz, to punk to tango!

and now that
you are part of a pretty stylish crew, what’s your favourite brand / designer
to wear while drinking vitamin water  haha, if i had a money tree i would totally wear
alexander mcqueen or anna sui but as i do not, sadly, have a money tree -
anything unbranded that looks lovely!

if you could
choose your dream job, what would it be and why? my dream job is to be an amazing family solicitor
and help people out of horrible and sticky situations!

we all like
to know our stuff, if you could be a connoisseur/guru/demi-god of something
what would it be? i would love to be a guru of….hmm, hard question.
maybe a guru of folklore so i could always tell inspiring and magical stories
at the drop of a hat??

with the
whole world obsessed with social networks, where do you hang out online – not
that we want to stalk you or anything ? facebook is still probably my network of choice,
and myspace to promote music-y stuff! 

vitamin water
is newish to the uk, what is your favourite place here, where should we go and
hang out? i adore pembrokeshire – especially st david’s! it
is teeny but sooooo relaxing and beautiful!

cilla style?  cilla style ? as in cilla black? well it would have to be
our graeme chapman all the way from the north east in a little town called
hartlepool

now that we’re up close and personal, tell
us something about yourself that most people don’t know. i’m an outgoing
type of guy don’t really keep anything to myself. but i guess i’m a big softy
for old school disney films

we like meeting the drinkers, if you could
meet anyone in the world and have a vitamin water with them, who would it be? tough
one. would have to be dallas green from “city and colour” and “alexisonfire” we’d
guzzle down some dragonfruit and i’d introduce him to a parmo (a north east
delicacy)

wouldn’t say i’m a big style freak really. give me a band t-shirt and some

if you could choose your dream job, what would it be and why?
an architect so i could build my dream house how i want it, and everyone else’s would have a fridge full of vitaminwater in every room

say everything, so i’ll stay away from the norm.  i’d love to know everything about the tech world, gadgets and

tommy and i come from a lovely little town called kiskunflegyhza in
the middle of the big hungarian plain. but i’m just a citizen of the world.

as a location scout, travelling around the world looking for the locations of
the hottest new movies..
