we caught up with the lovely jameela at lovebox who shared with us some essential summer tips for festivals!

which festivals have you been to this year?
so far it’s been isle of wight, hard rock calling, wireless lovebox, secret garden party, v festival, and t4 on the beach…i’m trying to pack as much festival in as possible before i get too old for a portaloo!

hectic schedule! So, which act would you most like to see at a festival ?
beyonce. and i bloody missed her at glastonbury… and t in the park, and oxegen, i’m furious. but i have seen stevie wonder live, so i shan’t complain too much…

what is your funniest festival memory?
it wasn’t at all funny at the time, but looking back, i got trapped in a portaloo for an hour once. the door got stuck, and prodigy were playing so nobody could hear me screaming. never ever piss during prodigy…. i’m scarred for life.

what are your festival essentials?
ray bans – always ray bans, baby wipes, I always keep a bottle of glaceau vitaminwater in my bag- it tastes great and keeps me hydrated. Other things are definitely loo roll and money for chips.

are there any songs that you associate with summer / summer festivals?
i think the kings of leon always get me in the festival mood… the bucket is my summer song. and i’m yours by jason mraz…

do you have any pre festival rituals?
raiding our wardrobes for clothes we can never get away with in london to our summer soundtracks… bring on the animal hats, feather headdresses and more make up than jodie harsh… why not?

which beauty products do you have to keep to hand?
concealer boi-ing by benefit, maybelline falsies mascara, nars red lipstick and bobbi brown- golden light bronzer…they are my festival face uniform.

what are your top festival outfits?
i keep it traditional and comfortable, vintage mens leather boots, pretty dress and a statement hat, and the quirkier the jewellery, the better…

have you been to any festivals abroad before and what happened?
not yet, i’m heading to coachella next year though.

do you have any styling tips for your fans e.g. take a pashmina to use for your hair, to keep you warm, to use as a pillow?
a good hat will save you at a festival, it protects you from the sun, the rain and the flying bottles of wee that get chucked into the crowd, and lets you maintain some sort of dignity by keeping you looking somewhat chic…

what’s the best thing you’ve ever found at a festival?
a rotisserie. im so bloody sick of the amount of cous cous stands at festivals these days… bring on the chicken…

what are your key pieces to wear this summer?
felder felider leather wrist cuffs, urban outfitters have awesome native american headdresses, that teamed with a simple outfit, are killer, and floaty white dresses from h and m.

what is the biggest festival no-no?
all in ones. i learned the hard way, playsuit + portaloo = disaster….

at festivals you will mainly find me….?
looking for chicken. or in the smaller tents watching the small un heard of bands, thats usually the best stuff you’ll hear at festivals…

who are your summer style icons?
i think florence welch looks awesome always, and erin wasson defines summer chic.

name three of your essential summer tunes?
cee-lo green – its ok
katy b – katy on a mission
three little birds – bob marley

how would you describe your style?
comfortable retro glamour. life’s too short for the natural look!

Thanks jameela! Until next festival season guys!

phew! what an intense week or so! being ever present at the pool, the beach and the hottest parties has kept us pretty busy!

220726_10150590309965514_415893115513_18878617_2376585_o(1).jpg

during cannes also had the chance to launch our vitaminwater memory maker photobooth which we’re excited to announce will be touring the uk countryside this summer in search of the next hottest festival! check out some photos from our best of collection below and you can see more in our facebook album as well!

104413-vw strip cannes.jpg       103411-vw strip cannes.jpg105195-vw strip cannes.jpg      101881-vw strip cannes.jpg

we’ve also just had some fresh videos come in from our friends over in canada filmed around cannes and at the hollywood reporter party with jodies foster, janice min and rob lowe, so you can get a glimpse of the glitz and glamour straight from the source!

we got up close and personal with rob lowe at the hollywood reporter party hosted by vitaminwater to honour jodie’s achievements. check out rob below chatting about his reaction to seeing his 16 year old self!

now that we’re finished up at cannes we’re hoping that we’re brought some cannes sunshine back to the uk, to continue to shine on all you lovely people!

On the 6th day of cannes my true love sent to me, a multi-v under a palm tree!

Cannes is now in full swing and vitaminwater is still rocking la croisette – literally! we’ve had celeb sightings galore, exclusive beachfront lunches, poolside rock concerts and intimate screenings sessions.

cannes_landscape.jpgWe’ve managed to have a proper celeb spot during breakfast at the poolside of the Hotel Martinez. Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn… tick!

after that, we headed over to zplage for the launch of the independent film project (IFP) and the calvin klein collection hosted at hotel martinez by vitaminwater, to find the party in full swing.  so we danced…shoulder to shoulder with calvin klein supermodel Natalia Vodianova and adrian brody. Hard life right?!

calvin-klein-woman-of-cannes-natalia-vodianova.jpgCome thursday vitaminwater and the Weinstein Company, hosted sarah jessica parker and harvey weinstein for a preview of the movie “I Do not Know How She Does It.” we must say how stunning sarah looked in a full length white dress with extraordinary crochet detail. what do you think?

SJP & harvey at montblanc.jpgWe’ve also been hosting an exclusive intimate lunch series with the stars on the beachfront. On Saturday the adorable singer, aria crescendo, brought her burst of energy to the beach (surely aided by the bottle of power-c she toted) and chatted about her latest album.

O_b3d86ab993641ee6c68ffb746bfc83a2AriaCresc_Todd_64725724_Max.jpgAnd on sunday in strolled the beautiful (like, “former victoria’s secret angel” beautiful) selita ebanks. She turned every head on the beach as she chatted with us about her latest professional and philanthropic endeavors (not to mention, her undying love of french butter). us too, selita!

Vit Water Henry & PPQ Show Pics Web Size-93 copy.jpg

come friday, whether you love it or loathe it, the mighty london fashion week rolls into town once again for the first of its two annual visits, and we’ll be on the frontline to greet it with open arms!

it’s not exactly hard to miss, especially if you happen to find yourself within close proximity of the makeshift (and rather majestic) home of fashion for the week, somerset house. just keep a sneaky ear out for the clobber of sky high heels, made by the thousands of die hard fashionistas paving tracks to shows such as burberry, ppq, issa london, vivienne westwood and christopher kane.

worry not however if a trip to the fashion heartland is not on the cards, as vitaminwater is an official sponsor and will be on hand to bring you the best of fashion week…

we’ll be right in the thick of the mayhem to keep you updated on the most outlandish outfits and quirky trends as they happen – so don’t miss a thing by liking us on facebook and following us on twitter!

also, in between propping up the front row and mingling with the style spotters, we’ll be giving away some enviable prizes for everyday of fashion week on our new facebook ‘lfw’ competition tab – kicking off with a pair of office shoes every month for a year to one lucky winner! so what are you waiting for… get liking!

phew… looks like it’s going to be a busy week! only question now is – what to wear?

it’s the first of the december, and we may have just moved into prime christmas sing-a-long song territory – but more importantly, we bid a fond farewell to the marvellous movember.

it’s been a rollercoaster month filled with highs and lows, from parading around with our new gentlemanly status, to coping with the almighty itch! certainly a month we won’t be forgetting in a hurry (well, until next year at least!), we’re sending out massive high fives to all the valiant mo bros and mo sisters out there who bravely faced the ‘tashe!

however, lets not forget the cause behind all this hair growth, the prostate cancer charity. prostate cancer is currently the most common cancer in men in the uk, with around 250,000 living with the disease, and the prostate cancer charity do a brilliant job at raising awareness, pushing research, and supporting men with prostate cancer. movember is such an important lifeline for them, and so far the campaign has raised over £6 million!

a big pat of the back goes to the vitaminwater movember crew also, who have raised £626 so far! special mention to ed chandler, our front runner, who raised a whopping £213!

we’ve also had some superb (and rather enviable!) entries to our ‘show us your mo‘ competition, and today we announce the champion of champions, mo of mo’s, top dog, big cheese – whatever you want to call it – grand finale winner! keep reading on below to find out who it is!

and so for the last time this year…. check out our final progress below!

so that’s it for movember 2010 folks, and may your mo’s live long and prosper! it’s also not too late to donate for this great cause, so don’t forget to hit donate under each of our names above!

day 26 and the mo growth is stepping up thick and fast.

the vitaminwater crew have been caught a bit off guard with this sudden bout of mo-gress and don’t quite know how to act. with a great mo comes great responsibility, so we’re in the process of schooling ourselves in proper moustache bearing etiquette – here is our dummies guide…

refined palette - a proper mo gent has a taste for the finer things in life – we’re talking afternoon tea with pinkies out and regular moustache grooming. consider anything less than worthy as an insult – it’s your mo right.

body is a temple - eat well, sleep at the right times, and be sure to book yourself in for a little rest & relaxation once in a while. take heed of this, because mo’s need to wind down too!

enunciate - a notable leader must be heard and understood to commandeer he utmost respect. so slow down, exaggerate the mouth movements, avoid the slurs – and for mo’s sake, don’t speak with your mouth full. (note – this should go without saying, but queens english please)

posture - back straight, chest out, gut in, chin up. four simple rules to ensure that the presence of your mo is known and revered by everyone you meet.

use the mo power for good – that’s right, keep that door open for the person behind you, give up that comfy seat on the packed train, carry that shopping for the old lady on the street, and watch the mo man points come rolling in!

feel free to use this as a guideline – and don’t forget to support each other on this long road to becoming distinguished gents!

and now the moment you’ve all been waiting for… week 4 mo-gress!

ok so for the moment you’ve really been waiting for, the results of this week’s ‘show us your mo’ competition! you guys have really brought out the big guns for the final week and we’ve had a pretty tough time racking our brains to find our winners… but we got there in the end (phew!) and here we present the six final mo-tastic winners!

@jamieSalvage http://bit.ly/enHTde

we’re almost at the time to bid farewell to our beloved movember, but not before we announce the grand final winner of the ‘show us your mo’ competition! on monday, all of our previous winners will have the opportunity to replace their creative photo, or keep their existing one – for the grand final prize to win a months supply of vitaminwater!

keep your eyes peeled for our last movember post and the grand final winner to be announced this wednesday!

day 19.

the itch has set in and we’re not a happy bunch.

it’s hard to hear over the incessant scratching, and our poor tashes are bearing the brunt of the damage. we’re in need of some relief, so we’ve turned to the ever reliable interwebs for tips on getting through this rather tough time.

moisturise, moisturise, moisturise - taking inspiration from the most well groomed mo bro you know, it can’t hurt to treat your mo to a bit of lasting hydration. don’t go cheap on the product either, your mo deserves only the very best.

give it some mirror time - staring at your illustrious mo in the mirror and realising how dashing and manly you look, will be more than enough motivation to see you through the itch.

bath regularly - we’re not talking about your body in general (that can wait!), we’re talking about a relaxing mo bath. that’s right, grab yourself a bowl of hot soapy water and give your mo a bit of a dip now and again. be warned however, this might be one for the privacy of your own home – and don’t forget to come up for air!

comb, don’t scratch - refined gentlemen wouldn’t be caught dead laying into their mo’s with their fingertips, so grab yourself a limited edition movember comb from kent. great for those times when the itch won’t pass, and you still need to save face.

carpet loving - if all else fails, and there’s nothing that will make you feel better other than itch, rubbing your face vigorously on your carpet will give you the itch relief amplified by 1000. approach this one as a last ditch effort though, as carpet burn is never a good look.

in the growth department, some of us have obviously fared better than others (i am all but a patchy mo man) – check out our mo-gress below!
