this one is for everyone who just can’t lay the weekend to rest. dance maven willy joy has just dropped the video for his new track, woman like me. rest assured, the tribal beat and catchy one-liner will keep you in high sprits all day.

…even if it is monday.

it might be monday, but we’ve got reason to be smiling today!

not only was the sun out to play, but for the first time this year, it decided to stay out past 4pm! we’d almost forgotten that day’s like this existed – as it not only spells the end of the winter hibernation, but also signals the big leap into spring!

and we couldn’t be more ready, especially with crackers like this to see us through. indie three-piece smith westerns bring us their single ‘weekend’, a track that embodies the playful nature of 70′s glam rock with its fuzzy riffs and upbeat melody, guaranteed to gear you up for sunnier climes!

bed hair, tired eyes, and a weary soul. ah yes, sounds like monday has reared it’s sneaky head again.

but it’s nothing that we can’t handle, especially when we’ve got cold war kids and passion pit to drown out the inevitable “it’s-way-too early-to-be-asking-me-that” monday morning requests!

‘mine is yours’ is the latest emotion filled installment from indie four-piece cold war kids, and electro pop rockers passion pit have injected it with the psychedelic influences that we’ve come to expect from their trademark sound.

and to top it all off, they’ve made it available to download for the grand sum of zilch!

now if that isn’t an offer to brighten up your monday morning, perhaps only a bottle of revive can save you now!

wet hair and soggy socks can only mean one thing – the bleak monday morning slog.

typical.

it needn’t be all bad however, because all the rain in the world won’t be enough to stop this track from chilling you out good and proper. named as one of the ones to watch for 2011, james blake wowed even the harshest critics last year when he introduced ‘limit to your love’ to a mass of surrounding buzz. he has a sound that is incredibly raw and stripped back, that when coupled with his warming voice results in a spectacular contrast.

so if your monday is in need of a bit of a mood lift, taking a few moments to enjoy this live rendition of ‘wilhelm’s scream’ might just do the trick.

monday, finally!

those aren’t words we pipe up often, but we’ve been absolutely itching to share this with you.

one of the most exciting releases we’ve come across in the past few months and certainly setting up 2011 to be a great year for progressive music, beat luminary jamie xx has taken adele’s ‘rolling in the deep’ and introduced the track to his good friends bass, kick and snare.

a minimal and atmospheric interpretation, it seems that everything this guy touches at the moment turns to gold and we can only predict massive things for him this year.

it’s monday again, and we’ve jumped face first into the dreaded sniffle season! most of the vitaminwater hq have come down with something or another, and we’re slowly getting used to a melodic symphony of coughs and groans.

but feeling under the weather does not mean it’s the end of the world, and it has a funny little way of making stunning tracks like this one sound even better. isobel campbell & willy mason perform a beautifully sombre version of townes van zandt‘s ‘no place to fall’, and all of it’s folky acoustic goodness seems to have done us the world of good in helping to combat the winter blues.

so whether you’re duvet bound with a weary head or simply taking a well deserved cold monday off, snuggle up and let these guys set your road to recovery in good stead!

there’s no feeling like only having 12 days til christmas, and to help us contain our excitement, we’ve been giving today’s calming and chilled monday revival tons of airplay at vitaminwater hq!

danish electronic four-piece when saints go machine‘s striking track ‘fail forever’ is remarkable. the sombre tone, coupled with soothing vocals and a catchy soft electro melody is a great way to see you through nicely from now, right past quitting time, and up until the obligatory monday evening duvet snuggle!

we’re feeling all warm and chilled after a big dose of today’s monday revival. british bass maven deadboy has taken a shining to drake’s track ‘fireworks’, and turned it into something all the more refreshing.

he takes the simplistic piano riff from the original and turns it into the focal point of his rework, accompanied by a series of pure beats that do a perfect job at gently lullabying us through this cold winter’s afternoon. all of these ingredients come together to create somewhat of a knee weakener – so make sure you’re sat comfortably for this one…

mother nature seems to have gone off on one this weekend, catching most of us off guard and forcing many into an unplanned hibernation for a bit of winter warming! however, all good things come to an end, and we all shed a bit of a tear this morning as the brash alarm marked the end of cosy weekend duvet time.

luckily for us, we had the warming harmonies from folk duo first aid kit to look forward to after braving the cold! hailing from sweden with a great earthy sound, this acoustic performance of their stunning track ‘our own pretty ways’ is enough to warm the cockles no matter how far the temperature decides to drop.

a must hear if you’re feeling the bite from the chill today, or even better, save it for that magical moment when you climb back into that snuggly duvet!

the daily routine has never sounded this good.

watch as upcoming talent tinashé performs a stunning acoustic version of his track ‘pieces of paper’. taking a comfy seat on his local park bench armed with nothing but a guitar, he couldn’t have chosen a more perfect location for this beautiful and chilled video – a perfect way to revive any weary souls resting tired heads after the raucous weekend activities!

this song was made for monday mornings – so kick back, relax, and let tinashe set your week (and weekend recovery) in good stead!
